JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – First Florida Credit Union recently received two 2020 Diamond Awards from the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). The Jacksonville-based credit union was awarded in the One-Time Event category for its “Pop in at Your Pace” Mandarin Grand Opening, as well as in the Financial Education category for its College Prep Workshop initiative.

Over the past five years, First Florida has won six Diamond Awards, which is one of the highest honors a credit union can receive in the industry. This accolade recognizes leading-edge ideas and creativity that produce tremendous results in marketing efforts. First Florida’s submissions were chosen from a group of more than 1,200 entries.

Recognition for this year’s winners differed from previous years due to the coronavirus pandemic. Award recipients are typically announced in-person at the CUNA Marketing & Business Development Council Conference, but the organization made the decision to postpone the 2020 conference to protect the health and safety of guests.

Michelle Troha, First Florida’s senior vice president of marketing, said her team was thrilled to be recognized on a national platform by such a distinguished association as CUNA.

“First Florida Credit Union strives every single day to enrich people’s lives and focus on financial education – both of which were goals that we worked hard to accomplish in our winning initiatives,” Troha said.
